Description

Probably a fantasy on the exterior in Amsterdam

An idyllic river scene with sailboats in the background on the left and, in the foreground on the right, two rowboats moored to the bank, carrying groups possibly out for pleasure boating.

See the same work ‘1836 Waterland with mill’ oil on canvas 42 x 59

See the almost identical composition ‘1836 watermill on a canal with ferry’ oil on panel 40 x 57.5
